Our Family Adventure and Investment

Our adventure started in 2013 when my wife and I got married at Florblanca in Santa Teresa Costa Rica. We fell in love with Costa Rica and thought at the time that we would one day move and live there. I am sure a lot of people have that same thought after spending some time in this magical place. Our approach to our dream was never to push the idea, yet patiently wait for an opportunity to present itself. Which it did in 2015, when a perfect piece of property came for sale. The location, size, layout, and price was everything we were envisioning when thinking about our dream home. This lot sits in the best part of town, up off the beach a little to be super private, yet still walking distance to the beach with the best waves, and ocean, beach and jungle views.  So all we had to do was make the commitment and go all in through this door that opened for us. We knew the road was going to be long and a little stressful before we had our home complete, but we were willing to put in the time and wait. 
At the time, we lived in California and I worked in my family contracting business, so I knew and understood construction very well. My wife and I worked on projects as a team so we both understood what it was going to take to complete our dream home in a foreign country without us actually being there. We "thought" we knew what we were going to be getting into, but we found out that things happen a little differently in Costa Rica. One year over the originally proposed timeline for completion (2 years total construction) and way over budget, but we made it. 6 years after our initial land purchase and 3 little boys later, our project was complete.
Our property is 6,200 square meters which is roughly an acre and a half, so we were fortunate enough to be able to build 2 nice permitted homes.
Casa de Ensueno, "Dream Home", is our permanent residence now. It was completed in February 2021 and we moved here that same month. We love the way everything turned out and enjoy finally living here full time. Our plan is to rent out the house during Holidays so we can travel back to California to visit family and friends.
Casa de Paz, House of Peace, is the other house we built on our property for family, friends and rental use. It was completed in May 2021. All the landscape and hardscape didn't finish until end of June 2021.
Both of these houses are built like a luxury California beach home. We were able to separate the 2 houses enough to keep them totally private from one another and also keep an ocean and jungle view for both houses.
We are excited for people to come and enjoy our 2 homes after we put so much time, money and effort into them.
God blessed us with this one of a kind set up, and our goal now is to have others come and be able to experience this amazing place in our homes which we believe are the best homes in town.
